Education and Outreach

Whether you’re interested in workshops and trainings, or are new to bioenergyrenewable energy or energy efficiency, there are many resources available.

Through the Events Page the Energy Center is able to provide an up-to-date calendar of educational outreach offered throughout the state to a variety of audiences. The Energy Center offers trainings, webinars, workshops, and presentations throughout the calendar year and has archived many of them.

The Energy Center seeks to provide Iowa students and adult learners with practical and credible energy education by providing funding through the Energy Education and Workforce Development grant program. For activities that do not readily fit within other grant programs, the Energy Center’s Special Project grant program is available for public education activities that will have high impact and statewide value. This may include events, publications, web development, studies, workshops, and technology demonstrations.

Educators can find information on the Energy Center’s Youth and Energy Scholarship Program, as well as links to resources regarding STEM/STEAM and educational links to resources.

Check out our Ask an Expert section to see if your energy questions have already been answered, or submit your own. Through the Impact Awards the Energy Center honors leaders and innovators throughout the state in four program areas: Bioenergy, Education and Outreach, Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy.

Additional resources for Homeowners about geothermal energyenergy tips, and financial incentives are also available, as well as information regarding energy efficiency for commercial buildingsagriculture and transportation.
