The Iowa Energy Center is introducing three new competitive grant opportunities that aim to help Iowa non-profit organizations gain external funding to further the environmental, social, and economic well-being of Iowans through improved energy efficiency measures and alternate energy technology. As of today, the Planning Grant Program Request for Proposals (RFP) is now available.
The Energy Center is seeking proposals for planning grants that will help facilitate applicants’ preparation of proposals in response to major federal, state, or private-sector solicitations. An Energy Center award would provide funding for activities specifically aimed at bringing potential partners together to strategize, plan, or execute a response to a known or likely external funding opportunity. Activities might include travel to gather prospective (in-state and out-of-state) team members or to meet with sponsors; focused strategy, planning, and proposal -writing workshops; and workshop facilitation.
Subject to the availability of funding, the Energy Center will set aside $25,000 to award up to 8 planning grants through May 31, 2014. Typical awards will be less than $3,000 and shall not exceed $5,000. No matching funds are required.
