WindTech was created to offer wind technicians the opportunity to network, learn hands-on techniques and engage with the latest operations and maintenance technology presented directly from leading vendors in the market.
The Iowa Great Lakes Region is home to many wind farms, with overall Iowa capacity reaching beyond 4,500 MW. WindTech Iowa will be held at Iowa Lakes Community College in Estherville, IA. Wind energy experts and college administrators founded the Wind Energy and Turbine Technology program in 2004. Participants of WindTech Iowa will have the opportunity to work hands-on with the latest tools brought in from the headquarters of wind companies, but also experience the college’s 1.65 MW Vestas V-82 working turbine, as well as gearboxes, a Vestas V-90 prototype nacelle and a Gamesa G-87 nacelle.
