Conference: 2nd Annual Hybrid Processing
Iowa State University’s Hybrid Processing group of Zhiyou Wen, Laura Jarboe, and Zhanyou Chi are hosting the 2nd Annual Hybrid Processing for Biorenewable Fuels & Chemicals Production Symposium at Reiman Gardens, May 15-16, 2013 in Ames, IA. This workshop is supported by Iowa State’s Bioeconomy Institute, Office of Biotechnology, Plant Sciences Institute, and the Iowa Energy Center.
Hybrid Processing is a combination of thermochemical biomass deconstruction and biological utilization of the resulting sugars, organic acids and syngas. ISU currently has a well-established program on thermochemical processing, therefore, our hybrid program’s focus is on the biological side, i.e. syngas fermentation and bio-oil fermentation. The goal of the workshop is to develop collaborations in this research area.
Please register for this 2-day workshop featuring speakers from Iowa State University, USDA Agricultural Research Service, Washington State University, and Kiverdi. Researchers, graduate students and industrial representatives are all encouraged to attend; poster presentations are also encouraged.
See symposium Web site to register and for more details.
