The recently released National Solar Jobs Census 2013 created by The Solar Foundation finds the U.S. solar industry employed 142,698 Americans as of Nov. 2013, a 20 percent growth in employment since Sept. 2012. Solar employment has grown 10 times faster than the national average employment rate of 1.9 percent, showing for the first time ever the solar industry exceeded job growth projections. Findings from the census were used by the White House in their enhanced, online version of the 2014 State of the Union Address.
