The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has announced a loan guarantee solicitation for new or improved projects involving innovative and advanced fossil energy projects and facilities that will substantially reduce greenhouse gases and other air pollution. These projects may include advanced resource development, carbon capture, low-carbon power systems, and efficiency improvements.

The DOE has provided a list of potential technology development for projects. They welcome public comment on these technologies, their potential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and identification of other technologies that they should consider for this loan guarantee solicitation. The DOE will use this feedback to further define the scope of the final solicitation.

The Advanced Fossil Energy Projects solicitation will have $8 billion in loan guarantee authority and be open for comments from industry, stakeholders, and the public until early September.

You can find more information from the full draft solicitation. (pdf)
